BEGINNER COURSE:
No partner or previous dance experience is required to attend. Partner switches occur about every 5 mins, every class. Each course covers L.A. Style Salsa, Colombian Style Salsa, and Merengue (another Latin dance played at Salsa clubs). There are 26 Salsa and 10 Merengue steps in the Susana's beginner syllabus. The beginner syllabus is devided into three different beginner courses offered each year.
If you are just starting, it is inadvisable to enroll if you will be missing class # 1 or # 2, since these are when the fundamentals are taught. By taking a thorough approach in learning the fundamentals, students are surprised at how much they are able to learn as the course progresses.
By the end of a course, students have built a vocabulary of steps including numerous underarm turns. Followers learn the principles involved in following any style of Salsa. All steps are 100% leadable.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED:
Prerequisites: 2-3 of Susana's Beginner Salsa curriculums are recommended. There are approximately 60 patterns in Susana's intermediate syllabus which are devided into 6 different courses, alternated to offer students new material each season they attend this level. Each course offers an approximate 50/50 mix of LA Style and Colombian style steps. Courses begin with intermediate level patterns and end with advanced patterns. Strong grasp of rhythm is absolutely essential. Material covered, further challenges rhythm through new effects and complex step or arm patterns that include cross-body leads, spins, travelling steps and more. All steps are 100% leadable.

""I am of Salvadorean background and was looking for a way to teach my husband how to dance Salsa. To me, Salsa is more than just a dance -- it's a part of who I am and part of my roots and culture, it's about passing an art, from one generation to the next.
Susana's Classes are fun, animated and a great workout. She also teaches the kind of Salsa I want my husband to learn -- authentic Salsa." Jessika Pineda-Cordeiro
